Faye Clark's New Horizons began as the Faye I. Clark Group Home in May of 1977 with four clients. It has always been the focus of this program to teach its clients to live more independently in the community In 1979, Faye Clark's New Horizons purchased an apartment building to expand the clients' training to a more realistic environment. At that time the agency was incorporated as a non-profit organization. Faye Clark's New Horizons now operates out of two houses and two apartment complexes located in South Hialeah, all within walking distance of each other. The four facilities are licensed by the State of Florida for a total of 37 clients. The present client population is 34, twelve of whom are private-pay clients.

Presently, the agency is involved in the types of training described herein. Since May 1977, Faye Clark's New Horizons has served 47 clients. Six clients left the program for marriage, three of whom were State of Florida-HRS clients and are no longer a burden to the tax-payers. Of the 34 clients still residing at Faye Clark's New Horizon,  four have achieved near independence. They reside in the Faye Clark's New Horizons I, an apartment complex with intensive, structured training to prepare them for the minimal supervision facility. Twelve clients have moved into Faye Clark's New Horizons I , an apartment complex with intensive, structured training to prepare them for the minimal supervision facility. Four clients living in Faye Clark's New Horizons III and IV (houses) are being prepped to move to a more self-sufficient setting. Six clients have obtained drivers licenses, and two drive their own vehicles. Four clients have upgraded their competitive employment status.
